The Tortoise and the Hare is the fifth episode in the first season.
Plot[]
On your mark, get set... but wait! Princess Pea and Red are in a potato sack race in the park, but can't agree on how fast to go! The Super Readers fly into the famous race between the Tortoise and the Hare, and help these friends as they head to the finish line. Will slow and steady win this race, could fast be more fun, or will our fairytale friends learn a completely different lesson?

- At the end of the episode, there was not enough for the win, but second place for Princess Pea and Wonder Red.
- This is an Aesop fable also the moral is slow and steady wins the race.
- This is the only episode that J appears as a Super Letter.
- When the upside-down tortoise says, "Lovely song!", he says, "But, no, that doesn't help me.", and what he means by that is "And for you, that's just plain wrong!", even though it's a rhyme and the song that the hare mistakenly sings is what the tortoise likes a little, but not a lot.
- This is the first episode that two Super Readers have the same problem to state with.
- This the first time that Alpha Pig builds the word, "Go", he will build that word again in "The Story of Mother Goose".
