Goldilocks and the Three Bears: The Mystery is the 24th episode of the first season of Super Why!.
Plot[]
In Storybook Village, a mystery unfolds: the case of the broken guitar strings! Jack mistakenly believes Whyatt is responsible for it, despite knowing Whyatt is innocent. Meanwhile, the Super Readers venture into the classic tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, where they encounter Goldilocks, who is equally determined to prove she didn't make the mess in the bears' house. How can Goldilocks and Whyatt present their evidence convincingly and solve this baffling crime?
Summary[]
Whyatt gets a notification from his phone that says his brother Jack looks upset. He then goes to Jack's room and asks why he's upset, and Jack explains that his guitar's string is broken, but he thinks Whyatt did it, in which he didn't do. Whyatt tried to confess that it wasn't him, but Jack ordered him to leave. He then states that this is a super big problem and calls the Super Readers to the book club, telling them his problem. Princess Pea then summons the Goldilocks and the 3 Bears: The Mystery book. They transform and fly into the book.
Trivia[]
- This episode is a sequel to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Ironically, Jack mentions the events of Goldilocks and the Three Bears when he reminds Whyatt that he's always messing with his stuff. However, the only time that Whyatt messes with Jack's stuff is when he is showing his room to the viewers. Cleaning up the mess that he made doesn't count because Whyatt is really making it up to Jack. (He does ask him what he's doing in his room again, though.) But since Jack told Whyatt that he's always messing his stuff, it's possible that he did a few more times after the events of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. However, it's unknown if it's true or not.
- This episode, along with Momotaro the Peach Boy, are the only episodes written by Betty Quan.
- This is one of the few episodes where Super Why doesn't tell the viewers to look out for Super Letters.
- This marks the 1st appearance of V as a Super Letter. It would later reappear in several episodes, following this one.
- During Alpha Pig's segment, his Mega Magnifying Glass first shows 3 paw prints consisting of A, L, and P, referencing them being the 1st group of Super Letters found in the original episode.
- While the Super Readers struggle to open all three doors, Wonder Red's grunting sound was reused from Cinderella.
- This is the 2nd episode to not have Super Why saying "Super job, Super Readers! We changed the story and.…", with The Ant and the Grasshopper being the 1st. It will happen again later in other episodes like Juan Bobo and the Pig, Alice in Wonderland, and The Story of the Tooth Fairy.
- The culprit reveals to be the Big Bad Wolf, but for the plucked guitar strings, the culprit is Joy.
