Beauty and the Beast is the twenty-fifth episode of the first season of Super Why!.
Plot[]
"Grrr! Howl! Stomp!" is all Princess Pea hears on her playdate with Wolfy and she can't figure out why he's so angry! The Super Readers zip into the story of Beauty and the Beast and get to know the Beast himself! He isn't so "beastly" after all and if only he could turn down his roaring, Belle might figure out they're not as different as she thinks.

- The title refers to the 1946, 1987, and 1991, films of the same name.
- The title refers to the 1991 Disney renaissance film and franchise of the same name with its midquels of 1997 and 1998, as well as the 2017, 2-hour live action movie.
- The title refers to the Family Ties episode "Beauty and the Bank."
- The title also refers to the Gomer Pyle USMC episode "Gomer and the Beast."
- The scene in which the beast growls when beauty won't play with him. References The Flintstones episode "Fred's New Boss," where Fred Flintstone growls when Barney is his new boss. And like Dino, Beauty gets scared.
- In the original story and Disney movie, the Beast was a young prince who was cursed by an enchantress, and was turned back into a prince when Beauty (Belle) confessed her love to him. In this version, he's a regular beast instead of a cursed prince.
